Terms and Conditions – Activities
Reservations and Payment Terms
1. All requests for provisional or confirmed reservations must be made in writing with Adrift’s Reservations office.
2. Provisional bookings will be held for a maximum of fourteen (14) days from the date of reservation. If payment is not received within this period, the booking will automatically lapse without further notification.
3. A booking is only deemed fully confirmed once full payment has been received and a service voucher has been issued, unless otherwise agreed in writing under established credit arrangements.
4. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all activities require 100% prepayment in order to secure and guarantee the booking.
5. Any amendments or cancellations must be submitted in writing by email and, where applicable, followed by the issue of an amended voucher. Where amendments result in a reduction in participant numbers within the applicable cancellation period, cancellation terms will apply to the reduced portion.
6. Adrift East Africa Ltd reserves the right to revise contracted rates in the event of increases in VAT, statutory levies, service charges, exchange rates, park, conservation or concession fees, fuel costs, or other adverse cost increases imposed by third parties or authorities beyond our control. Such revisions may apply to confirmed bookings, and clients will be re-invoiced accordingly, with as much notice as reasonably practicable.
7. Adrift East Africa Ltd reserves the right, at its discretion, to decline or cancel services where full payment has not been received in advance and no prior written agreement is in place.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
All cancellations of confirmed bookings must be received in writing by email.
In the event of cancellation, the agent or client will be liable for a percentage of the full activity cost, calculated as follows (based on local activity start time):
• Cancellation received 12 hours or less prior to commencement – 100%
• Cancellation received 24 hours prior to commencement – 50%
• Cancellation received 48 hours or more prior to commencement – 0%
Failure to arrive for a booked activity (no-show) will be treated as a cancellation within 12 hours and charged at 100%.
Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method only, in compliance with applicable anti-money laundering regulations. Refunds are not transferable to third parties. Adrift East Africa Ltd accepts no liability for currency fluctuations, bank charges, or refund processing fees incurred.
Exceptional circumstances will be reviewed at Adrift’s discretion on a case-by-case basis.
Operational, Safety and Force Majeure
Adrift East Africa Ltd reserves the right to amend, delay, substitute, or cancel any activity due to weather conditions, river levels, safety considerations, equipment availability, acts of God, governmental restrictions, or any circumstances beyond Adrift’s reasonable control.
In such instances, Adrift will endeavour to offer a suitable alternative or reschedule the activity where possible. No responsibility shall be accepted for any consequential costs incurred by the agent or client.
Participation in adventure activities is undertaken at the guest’s own risk. Guests are responsible for ensuring they are medically and physically fit to participate and must disclose any relevant medical conditions or limitations prior to the activity. Adrift reserves the right to refuse participation where, in its reasonable judgement, safety may be compromised.
